Sreeja Konidela Reflects On Moving Beyond Victimhood
MUMBAI – Sreeja Konidela, daughter of Telugu cinema star Chiranjeevi and sister of actor Ram Charan, has spoken candidly about her mental health journey, sharing how she learned to move beyond victimhood and stop allowing painful experiences from her past to define her identity.
In a video posted on Instagram, Sreeja reflected on a period in her life when she felt overwhelmed by repeated struggles and emotional pain.
“I was stuck in a space asking, why is this happening to me, and why am I going through so much pain? Why is there a struggle after struggle, and what did I do to deserve this?” she said.
Sreeja explained that her perspective began to shift when she realized she had the power to shape her own life rather than seeing herself solely as a victim of circumstances.
“In this journey, I moved from that space of victimhood to understanding that life just doesn’t happen to me, but I have the power to create it,” she shared.
Reflecting on her personal growth, Sreeja said that for many years she defined herself through her pain, struggles and difficult experiences.
“For most of my life, I identified myself with my pain, my past, my struggles. To me, my identity was shaped by everything that went wrong in my life,” she said.
However, she noted that her experiences helped her recognize that painful events are only one part of a person’s story.
“Yes, my pain is still a part of me, but that’s not all that I am, and there is so much more to a person. Discovering those layers has been one of the most beautiful parts of this journey for me,” she added. (IANS)
