LOS ANGELES, CA – The Russo Brothers, known for their work on Hollywood blockbusters, congratulated the team of Citadel: Honey Bunny for earning a nomination at the Critics Choice Awards in the Best Foreign Language Series category. The nomination marks a major achievement for the Indian adaptation of the global Citadel franchise.
Competing against acclaimed shows such as Pachinko, Squid Game, Acapulco, La Maquina, The Law According to Lidia Poët, My Brilliant Friend, and Senna, the recognition places Honey Bunny among some of the best international productions.
Varun Dhawan, who plays the charismatic Rahi Gambhir aka Bunny, shared the news along with the Russo Brothers’ congratulatory message on Instagram, expressing his excitement about the nomination. Samantha Ruth Prabhu, who starred as Honey, also celebrated the honor on Instagram, writing, “How cool is this? (sic)” alongside a thank-you note.
Directed by Raj and DK, Citadel: Honey Bunny features a star-studded cast including Kay Kay Menon, Saqib Saleem, and Sikander Kher. The six-episode series, which premiered on Prime Video on November 6, has been praised for its gripping narrative and dynamic performances.
With the Russo Brothers backing the project as executive producers, the Indian adaptation of Citadel has successfully carved a niche for itself in the global entertainment space.
