Rajkummar Rao To Portray Sourav Ganguly In Upcoming Biopic

BARDHAMAN (ANI)- Former Indian cricket team captain Sourav Ganguly confirmed that Bollywood actor Rajkummar Rao will play him in his upcoming biopic.

Speaking to the media, Ganguly said, “From what I’ve heard, Rajkummar Rao will play the role… but there are issues of dates, so it will take more than a year to hit the screens.”

Ganguly, who played 113 Tests and 311 ODIs for India, amassed 18,575 international runs. He later served as president of the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) and, in October last year, was appointed president of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). Under his leadership, India secured 21 Test wins and reached the final of the 2003 World Cup.

Meanwhile, Rajkummar Rao will be seen in Bhool Chuk Maaf alongside Wamiqa Gabbi. The recently unveiled teaser introduces a time-loop concept, with Rao’s character reliving the same day. The film, directed by Karan Sharma, is produced by Maddock Films in association with Amazon MGM Studios.

Additionally, Rao stars in Maalik, produced by Kumar Taurani and Jay Shewakramani, slated for a theatrical release on June 20.
