Vivian Wilson Alleges Dad Elon Musk Used Sex-Selective IVF, Calls Her Birth A ‘Monetary Transaction’

WASHINGTON, DC – Vivian Jenna Wilson has accused her estranged father, Elon Musk, of using sex-selective in vitro fertilization (IVF) during her conception, suggesting that he viewed her transgender identity as a betrayal of his expectations.

In a March 10 post on Threads, Wilson wrote, “My assigned sex at birth was a commodity that was bought and paid for.” She continued, “So, when I was feminine as a child and then turned out to be transgender, I was going against the product that was sold… That expectation of masculinity that I had to rebel against all my life was a monetary transaction.”

Musk, who has 14 children, has long drawn scrutiny for his views on reproduction. A 2022 Forbes report described his approach to fatherhood as “engineering reproduction” and noted that at least his first five children—all assigned male at birth—were conceived via IVF. While Musk has not responded to Wilson’s allegations, her claims add to a history of estrangement between the two.

In 2022, Wilson legally changed her name and gender, citing both her identity and a desire to sever ties with Musk. “I no longer live with or wish to be related to my biological father in any way, shape or form,” she stated in court filings obtained by NBC News.

Wilson has previously spoken out against Musk, including in August 2024, when she criticized Walter Isaacson’s biography of the billionaire, calling it “one of the most humiliating experiences of my entire life.”
