Bipartisan Move – Khanna, Massie Will Bring Epstein Survivors To Capitol

WASHINGTON, DC – Rep. Ro Khanna (D-CA) will bring survivors of abuse by the late financier Jeffrey Epstein and his convicted accomplice Ghislaine Maxwell to the U.S. Capitol next month, part of his push for full public disclosure of records tied to the case.

Khanna, joined by Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY), plans to hold a September 3 press conference—the first day the House returns from its summer recess—where several survivors are expected to speak publicly about their abuse for the first time. Attorneys who represent the survivors will also attend.

Khanna has been pressing for the release of what he calls the “Epstein files”—a trove of Justice Department and FBI documents related to Epstein’s trafficking network, his connections, and the government’s investigation. He and Massie intend to file a discharge petition to force a House vote on legislation compelling the release of those records. Such a maneuver would bypass House leadership but requires 218 members—a full majority—to succeed.

The push comes after the DOJ and the Kash Patel led FBI issued a joint memo last month reaffirming their conclusion that Epstein died by suicide and that no “client list” exists. Those findings contradicted earlier conspiratory theories from President Donald Trump and his backers.

For Khanna, the upcoming event is both a platform for survivors to be heard and a pressure campaign on Congress to open the files. “This is about accountability, transparency, and ensuring that justice is not buried,” he has said in recent remarks about the case.
