Avika Gor Reflects On ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi’ Exit: Learning To Let Go
MUMBAI – Actress Avika Gor has reflected on her early elimination from ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi 15’, saying the experience has taught her to accept things beyond her control and stop rewriting the ending she had imagined.
Taking to Instagram, the ‘Balika Vadhu’ actress said watching the stunt-based reality show after her elimination often made her wonder whether she could have performed better.
She admitted that, from the comfort of her sofa, she sometimes found herself thinking she would have pushed harder or not given up. But she reminded herself that watching the show was different from actually facing a stunt amid pressure, fear and adrenaline.
“It’s very easy to become the hero of a situation from the outside,” Gor wrote, adding that people often replay difficult moments and imagine different choices. She said that was part of why her early elimination had been difficult to let go of.
“Somewhere inside me, there’s still that girl who believes, I had so much more to give. Maybe I did,” she wrote.
However, Gor said there was a difference between recognizing that she had more to give and continuing to live in an imagined version of events where she had another chance.
The actress said ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi’ has always been personal to her. She was 21 when she first appeared on the show, an experience that changed her perspective on herself and what she wanted to become.
Returning this time, she said, perhaps allowed her to reconnect with that younger version of herself and finish something that had once felt incomplete. Instead, the experience taught her a different lesson — how to live with what she cannot control.
Gor said accepting an outcome she could not change had been particularly difficult because she has always believed in working hard, preparing and pushing herself.
“Sometimes you can give something everything you have and still not get the ending you imagined,” she wrote.
She said closure may not be about deciding whether she deserved to stay or could have done better, but accepting that the story ended differently from the one she had written in her head.
Gor’s journey on ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi 15’ ended in the second week when she faced social media influencer Orhan Awatramani, popularly known as Orry, in an elimination stunt. While Orry completed the task in 10 minutes, Gor took more than 13 minutes.
“I hope, with time, this void becomes something I can heal from, rather than a place where I remain stuck,” she wrote. (IANS)
