WASHINGTON, DC – A provocative new installation appeared on the National Mall near the U.S. Capitol on March 10, depicting President Donald Trump and the late convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein in a pose reminiscent of the film ‘Titanic.’
The large-scale sculpture, which the anonymous activist group Secret Handshake titled ‘King of the World,’ shows the two men recreating the famous scene at the ship’s prow. A plaque below the statue reads, “The tragic love story between Jack and Rose was built on luxurious travel, raucous parties, and secret nude sketches. This monument honors the bond between Donald Trump and Jeffrey Epstein, a friendship seemingly built on luxurious travel, raucous parties, and secret nude sketches.”
Bystanders were observed photographing the piece, which stood against a backdrop of banners featuring the pair alongside the slogan Make America Safe Again, a take on Trump’s favorite sloganeering.
This display marks the latest effort by Secret Handshake to use public art as a medium for political critique. The group previously installed a sculpture of Trump and Epstein holding hands in the same vicinity last September, though officials scrambled to bring it down quickly. Their past portfolio includes a statue of human waste aimed at January 6 rioters and a replica of a birthday letter from Trump to Epstein.

The appearance of the artwork comes at a time of heightened public focus on Trump’s history with the sex trafficker. Since the Epstein Files Transparency Act was signed into law last November, the Department of Justice has been releasing tranches of documents that name various high-profile individuals, including the 79-year-old president. FBI memos detail a woman who accused Trump of sexual assault.
Democrats have called for Trump to testify saying his occupying the office of president does not grant him immunity, pointing out that former president and secretary of state Bill and Hillary Clinton have done so. They had asked for public hearings which the Republican members of Congress denied.
The president has consistently dismissed the scrutiny as a “Democratic hoax.”
