Actor Ravi Kishan Is Seeking Pension Benefits For TV Artists
MUMBAI- Actor Ravi Kishan will play a crucial role in the forthcoming movie ‘Bhabhiji Ghar Par Hain’, an adaptation of the popular show of the same name.
Speaking during the trailer launch, Kishan was asked what he thought of every industry being recognized by the government but not TV actors.
He pointed to television actress turned politician Smriti Irani. “She was a very big television actor, and the government, the BJP, and Modi ji gave her a very big position,” he said, avoiding the subject that many others used to point out.
Ravi Kishan added that there is a private member’s bill in the parliament in his name asking for a pension scheme for television actors, who do small parts and are not financially stable.
He stated, “I’ve asked the government to provide pensions, land, and housing for Hindi cinema actors. I’m raising my voice for character actors with minor roles who often struggle financially. I have introduced a private member’s bill to support them; it has been tabled in the assembly and is now awaiting a debate.” (IANS)
