AHMEDABAD– While Royal Challengers Bengaluru secured their second consecutive Indian Premier League title with a five-wicket victory over Gujarat Titans in the IPL 2026 final at the Narendra Modi Stadium on May 31, Rajasthan Royals teenage sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi emerged as the tournament’s biggest individual star, sweeping several of the season’s top awards.

The 15-year-old finished as the tournament’s leading run-scorer, amassing 776 runs to claim the Orange Cap. His remarkable batting performances throughout the season also earned him the Most Valuable Player and Emerging Player of the Season awards.

Sooryavanshi further underlined his dominance by winning the Super Striker of the Season award with a strike rate of 237.31 and the Super Sixes award after hitting a record 72 sixes during the tournament.

The Bihar-born opener also became the youngest player in IPL history to win the Orange Cap, finishing the season with 776 runs at the age of 15 years and 65 days. His 72 sixes set a new IPL record, surpassing the previous mark of 59 held by former West Indies batter Chris Gayle.
