Ayushmann Says Grandma Inculcated Passion For Music

MUMBAI, (ANI) – Apart from being a famous actor, Ayushmann Khurrana is also a versatile singer. And without any second thought, he gives credit to his grandmother for making him fall in love with music.

“I have enjoyed music since I was a child, and it is almost like a language for me. I think it comes from my grandmom (dadi). She was like an encyclopedia on films and enjoyed all kinds of music. Similarly, I have the perfect song for every occasion in my head and I thoroughly enjoy discovering more songs. I am constantly looking for new music across genres. I also enjoy music of different languages,” he shared. Ayushmann’s dadi used to sing in a Gurdwara, and his father used to play the flute. Music runs in Ayushmann’s family.

In one of the old interviews, he had said,:”I have grown up listening to retro music, tracks from the ’90s, ghazals and Sufi music. I remember one night, when we bought a car in 1988, my family spent the entire night in it, listening to Ghulam Ali’s ghazals. In the morning, the battery of the car was dead.”

Ayushmann has enthralled fans with soulful songs such as ‘Paani Da Rang’, ‘Nazm Nazm’, ‘Saadi Galli Aaja’, ‘Mitti Di Khushboo’, and ‘Chan Kitthan’ over the years.

On World Music Day 2022 on June 21, Ayushmann revealed that people can expect some beautiful singles coming from him soon.

“Ever since I started making music, I aspired to usher in a different sound for people. I have tried to be on that journey every time I have sung. I want my musical identity to be effortless, new age, slightly off-beat yet cool, melodious, and always youth facing. Today, I’m really excited to share that I have been working on some beautiful tracks which I can’t wait to share,” he shared.

He added, “Music has always been my best friend. I have always maintained that I’m the happiest when I express through music and I’m eager to speak to people and bare my heart and soul with these new tracks. The microphone has been my companion since my school days – it seen me through every phase of life. So, I’m really going to pour my heart out this time with these new songs that are coming your way.”
