NEW DELHI – Actor Deepika Padukone recently offered a personal reflection on a question she’s frequently asked: which city holds her heart—Bengaluru or Mumbai?

In a behind-the-scenes video shared on social media, Padukone responded with balance: “Whenever I come back to Bengaluru, it feels like home—my friends, my school, college… all my formative years were here.” She added, “Mumbai, on the other hand, is where my professional journey began. It’s where home is now, and the energy in Mumbai is very different.”

The video includes a montage of archival photos from her childhood, school, and early modeling days, highlighting her transition from Bengaluru to Bollywood.

Captioning the post, Padukone wrote, “A question I get asked ever so often… Bengaluru or Mumbai?” She concluded, “Both cities have truly influenced my 39 years.”

She recently represented India at global events including the Louis Vuitton show during Paris Fashion Week and the Forbes 30/50 Global Summit in Abu Dhabi.
