COPENHAGEN – Denmark has launched the Green Transition Alliance India (GTAI) to strengthen its partnership with India on sustainable energy and advance global carbon neutrality.

Denmark’s Ambassador to India, Rasmus Abildgaard Kristensen, highlighted the urgency of climate action. “Danish companies bring valuable expertise, and India’s growing capabilities in sustainable energy are key to this partnership. Our joint efforts will be both meaningful and inspiring for the future,” he said.

Several Danish companies and IIT Madras Energy Consortium have joined the GTAI, ensuring innovation and industry alignment.

As India works toward net-zero emissions by 2070, Denmark—ranked fourth in the 2025 Climate Change Performance Index—aims for net zero by 2045.

Building on the Green Fuels Alliance India and Wind Alliance India, GTAI will serve as a platform for key players in the global green transition.
