Diwali Festival Illuminates Rancho Cordova With Vibrant Celebrations

RANCHO CORDOVA, CA – Suvidha International Foundation and Overseas Volunteers for a Better India joined forces to host a spectacular Diwali festival in Rancho Cordova, near Sacramento. The event drew a crowd of enthusiastic Indian Americans, transforming the city into a hub of cultural joy.

Organizers emphasized the festival’s role as a unifying force, bringing together the diverse and vibrant community of Rancho Cordova. With over 2,000 attendees from various walks of life, the event beautifully showcased the essence of unity in diversity and the joyous spirit of the Festival of Lights, a press release said.

City of Rancho Cordova Councilmembers Siri Pulipati and Garrett Gatewood actively participated, engaging with the Indian American community and contributing to the festive atmosphere. Attendees were treated to a variety of attractions, including a special fireworks display, cultural performances by the Gongura Group, Kathak by the Light of Dance Academy, and Indian movie songs—all emceed by Anupriya and the duo of Abhignya and Namith.

The festivities also featured a Diwali-themed costume competition, a children’s carnival with games hosted by the Art of Living Foundation’s adult and youth volunteers, and a photo booth. Local vendors tantalized taste buds with mouth-watering delicacies, while family-friendly activities rounded up the festival experience.

Expressing gratitude, lead organizers Bhaskar Vempati, Suvidha International Founder and President, Shobha Rao, Vandna Sharma, and Venu Acharya thanked the City of Rancho Cordova, the City’s Parks Department, attendees, sponsors, talented performers, and dedicated volunteers for their invaluable contributions.
