India-West News Desk
NEW DELHI– The latest edition of ‘Pariksha Pe Charcha’ highlighted how a balanced diet plays a crucial role in students’ well-being and performance, with leading nutrition experts sharing practical insights on healthy eating habits.
Among the key speakers was macrobiotic nutritionist and author Shonali Sabherwal, who emphasized the benefits of homemade food in reducing stress and enhancing focus. “The homemade food is the best (for destressing) … Millets and brown rice can be included in the diet. One should eat a balanced meal to keep one’s cravings under control… Millets can keep you full for around 8 hours,” she said.
Renowned nutrition and wellness expert Rujuta Diwekar reinforced the importance of dietary variety for overall health. “As we have different subjects in school, we should have variety in our diet. There are a few food items that are good destressers. They are peanuts, bananas, and rice. These three things must be included in the diet,” she noted, underscoring the role of essential nutrients in maintaining energy levels.
Adding another perspective, health and nutrition influencer Revant Himatsingka shared insights on his initiative, ‘Label Padhega India,’ encouraging students and parents to read food labels carefully to make healthier choices.
