SANTA CLARA, CA – A team of four young men, three of whom hail from the Bay Area, emerged triumphant at the first-ever X Developer Challenge hosted this past weekend. Competing against a myriad of teams from across the nation on April 20-21, these students, all attending Santa Clara University, showcased their talent by crafting a cutting-edge Chrome extension dubbed Insight𝕏.

During the intense two-day event, the team poured their collective efforts into developing Insight𝕏, which boasts an impressive array of features. Notably, they pioneered the creation of an “All-Angle” view within the extension, a tool designed to analyze the topic of a post and uncover related perspectives from various authors. This innovative functionality promises to revolutionize how users engage with online content, offering them the opportunity to explore diverse viewpoints effortlessly.

Their dedication and innovation did not go unnoticed. As part of the competition, the team had the honor of presenting their solution directly to Elon Musk, who bought X. Their presentation not only highlighted their technical prowess but also underscored the potential impact of their creation on the digital landscape.

The winning team comprises Neel Valeti ’25 from Oakland, pursuing a double major in economics and computer science with a minor in math; Naveen Govindaraju ’24, specializing in computer science; Karan Parikh ’25 from San Jose, navigating a double major in computer science and finance with a minor in math; and Tushar Shrivastav ’24 from Saratoga, also focusing on computer science.
