From ‘Khichdi’ To Comeback: Vandana Pathak Is Ready For New Show
MUMBAI (IANS) – Renowned actress Vandana Pathak, beloved for her roles in iconic shows like “Hum Paanch” and “Khichdi,” is making her much-anticipated comeback to the small screen after a five-year hiatus. She is set to star in the upcoming Zee TV show, “Tumm Se Tumm Tak,” and expressed her excitement about stepping back onto the sets.
“Zee TV feels like an extension of my home and heart — it’s where my journey on television began with Hum Paanch nearly three decades ago. That show gave me not just recognition, but also memories that have stayed with me even today,” Vandana shared, highlighting her deep emotional connection to the channel. She further noted, “In fact, before a five-year hiatus from television, my last show was also on Zee TV! So, for me to come back after five years, I was waiting for something meaningful, and Tumm Se Tumm Tak felt just right.”
The new show, “Tumm Se Tumm Tak,” promises to be an unconventional love story, exploring the poignant connection between two individuals from vastly different backgrounds. It centers on Anu, a spirited 19-year-old woman from a modest background, and Aryavardhan, a disciplined and self-made 46-year-old business tycoon. Their evolving bond is set to challenge societal expectations, raising pertinent questions about love, age, and acceptance.
In “Tumm Se Tumm Tak,” Vandana Pathak will portray Gayatri Devi, a matriarch who, despite her luxurious surroundings, remains firmly rooted in her values. Talking about her character, Vandana revealed, “The character of Gayatri Devi spoke to me the moment I read about her. I see her strength, her grace, her quiet power, and I feel privileged to bring her to life. I’m truly looking forward to stepping onto the sets, reconnecting with the audience, and creating something special once again.”
The actress also conveyed her hopes for the audience’s reception, stating, “I just hope the viewers welcome me back with the same warmth and love they’ve given me throughout my career, it means everything to me.”
The show also features Niharika Chouksey and Sharad Kelkar in pivotal roles. It will play on Zee TV.
