Google Maps Will Have Lane Guidance For Improved Navigation
MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA (ANI) –Google Maps is set to roll out new navigation features aimed at improving urban driving, starting in November. According to The Verge, these updates will help drivers by displaying the correct lane for upcoming turns and showing essential elements like crosswalks, traffic signs, and lane restrictions. The feature will be available on both Android and iOS in 30 U.S. metropolitan areas.
Additionally, Google Maps is updating its “destination guidance” feature, enhancing visual cues for building entrances and nearby parking lots. The app will now remind users of parking locations and provide walking directions to building entrances.
To improve safety, Google Maps is adding alerts for adverse weather conditions. These alerts will inform drivers about low visibility, fog, snow, unplowed roads, and flooding.
Google is also integrating more artificial intelligence into Maps to help users discover new places. Meanwhile, Google-owned Waze is testing voice-activated incident reporting for real-time updates. Recent Google Maps updates include AI-driven reviews for EV chargers and personalized recommendations for dining and attractions.
