SAN JOSE, CA – Officials from leading companies and community organizations gathered at the Conference on ‘India-US partnership: A Key to New World Tech-Order,’ organized by the NID Foundation and Indian Minorities Foundation here. This conference served as a curtain-raiser event to mark PM Narendra Modi’s visit to the US.

In a joint statement, the tech leaders expressed optimism that the bilateral meeting between him and US President Joe Biden would forge new avenues of partnership between the two nations.

The conference was presided over by Rob Bonta, the Attorney-General of California, along with Satnam Singh Sandhu, IMF Convenor and NID Chief Patron, and Prof. Himani Sood, the Founder of NID.

Bonta acknowledged Modi’s popularity not only in India but also in the US. Highlighting the strength of California’s diversity, Bonta emphasized the significant contributions of the Indian American community in building, innovating, and creating within the state. He noted that California is on the verge of becoming the fourth-largest economy in the world and leads the nation in various sectors, from business and startups to manufacturing, entertainment, and technology. Bonta attributed this success to the support of entrepreneurs and businessmen who transform ideas into reality.

Among those who attended were Shilpa Kolhatkar, Global Head AI Nations at NVIDIA; Velchamy Sankarlingam Gam, President of Product and Engineering at Zoom Video Communications; Alok Aggarwal CEO, at Scry-AI; Rashmi Singhal, Senior Technical Recruiter at LinkedIn; Nitu Nanda, Senior VP at Bank of America; Sammy Sidhu, CEO and Co-Founder at Eventual; Johal, CEO of Wendy’s Pacific; Dr. Dalvir Pannu, CEO of Pannu Dental Group in California; Jeevan Zutshi, Founding Chapter President of the Silicon Valley Chapter of Global Organization of the People of Indian Origin; and Neeraj Bhatia, CPA and FCA, Sukhi Chahal, Founder, and CEO of The Khalsa Today; Anand Kuchibhotla, founder and chairman, University of Silicon Andhra; Bank of America Senior Vice President Nitu Nanda; Chief Global Service Operations at Iron Systems Bob Sidhu; and S5 Advisory Executive Managing Director Yogi Chugh, among others.  Several also spoke on the occasion.
