LOS ANGELES, CA – Indian Americans across the country sang Ram bhajans, lit lamps, rode in car parades, and congregated at temples to watch the live stream of the Pran Pratishtha ceremony at the Ram Temple in Ayodhya.

Events were lined up through the day from New York Times Square to Boston, as well as in Washington, DC, Los Angeles, and San Francisco.

In California, a huge 1000-car parade drove from Sunnyvale to the famed Golden Gate, a distance of almost 100 miles. Despite the rain over 1,000 people participated. In addition, there were several bike riders and digital vans bearing images of Lord Ram.

On January 21 evening, a vibrant light show, billed as the Tesla Car light show was held with 300 cars flashing their headlights at the same time. Spectacularly they were stationed in the lot spelling out the name, ‘RAM.’

The Vishwa Hindu Parishad of America held a similar massive show in Maryland ahead of the ceremonies in Ayodhya.

The community illuminated Times Square with a picture of Lord Ram in New York and chanted Shree Ram Bhajans and songs to showcase the cultural heritage of their home country. Large number of people wore traditional Indian attire and were seen holding saffron flags with Shree Ram portraits inscribed on them. Members of the ‘Overseas Friends of Ram Mandir’ distributed laddoos at Times Square.

Mayor of the city of Worcester, Massachusetts, Joe Petty extended his warm greetings to the Hindu community. The mayor also joined the US-India community for the celebrations. (with agency reports)
