NORTH BRUNSWICK, NJ — GIRI, one of India’s most prominent spiritual and cultural retailers, has officially opened its first showroom on the U.S. East Coast. Located in North Brunswick, New Jersey, the new outlet marks the company’s second U.S. location, following the success of its West Coast debut.

The inauguration ceremony was held with traditional fanfare, featuring Vedic rituals and cultural performances. North Brunswick Mayor Francis Womack III presided over the ribbon-cutting, underscoring the growing presence and influence of the Indian American community in the region.

Speaking at the event, GIRI Inc. CEO T.S. Ranganathan described the showroom as a space “where tradition meets today,” designed to serve not only Indian Americans but also spiritual seekers from diverse backgrounds. “We hope this store offers a sense of connection and comfort to those far from home,” he said.

Founded in Chennai in 1951, GIRI has evolved into a global brand with 36 showrooms across India and a presence in countries including the United States, United Kingdom, Australia, and the United Arab Emirates.

The New Jersey store features a curated selection of traditional Indian items, including devotional music, puja materials, Vedic scriptures, temple accessories, and handcrafted artifacts. The company said it aims to make spiritual living more accessible to diaspora communities while preserving the depth and authenticity of Indian cultural heritage.
