MEMPHIS, TN – Memphis will host the first Global Integrative Medicine Congress from May 8 to 10,2026, positioning the city as a center for emerging ideas in preventive health, lifestyle medicine, and mind–body science.
The three-day gathering, organized by the American Academy for Yoga in Medicine, is being promoted as a major international meeting focused on evidence-based approaches to managing chronic disease and strengthening public health.
The congress comes at a time of rising concern over chronic illness, stress-linked conditions, and lifestyle-related health problems. Organizers say the goal is to connect medical research with practical, preventive strategies that can be used by clinicians, wellness professionals, and the public. The program is structured to make scientific information accessible while encouraging collaboration across disciplines.
The schedule includes sessions on mental health, cardiovascular health, women’s health, pain, neurophysiology, and digital health tools. Speakers will examine how lifestyle-based interventions and mind–body practices may complement conventional treatment to improve outcomes across communities. Public participants will be able to join these discussions alongside specialists and researchers.
Six workshops will be taught by international experts and will cover detoxification physiology, meditation and mindfulness research, autonomic neuroscience, heart rate variability analysis, research methodology, scientific writing, regulatory standards, and clinical safety. Organizers describe the sessions as practical forums intended to build skills that can be applied in clinical work and personal health routines.
Research will be highlighted through poster and abstract presentations in fields including integrative medicine, lifestyle science, neurophysiology, rehabilitation, and public health. Several new medical and scientific books will be launched during the event, giving attendees early access to upcoming developments in whole-person care.
Organizers say the congress is intended to be inclusive, with sessions on sleep, stress reduction, emotional wellbeing, and preventive care aimed at helping individuals apply integrative practices in daily life. For more: www.aaymonline.org
