LOS ANGELES, CA –Jasveen Sangha, a dual British and American citizen dubbed the “Ketamine Queen,” is facing serious charges related to the tragic death of actor Matthew Perry.

She, along with two doctors and three others including Perry’s personal assistant, has been charged with supplying the powerful sedative ketamine that led to Perry’s overdose in October 2023.

Authorities have described Sangha’s North Hollywood residence as a hub for distributing the drug, which she allegedly stored and sold from her home.

Ketamine is a short-acting anesthetic with hallucinogenic properties, sometimes prescribed to treat depression and anxiety but also abused by recreational users. Perry died at age 54 from “acute effects” of ketamine and other factors that caused him to lose consciousness and drown in his hot tub, a December 2023 autopsy report said.

Known for her past legal troubles involving methamphetamine and other drugs, Sangha’s arrest has ignited a surge of interest online, particularly from India, where her name has led to searches on her India links given her name. The case has seen substantial search activity from various regions in India, including Delhi, Karnataka, Punjab, Haryana, and Telangana.

Sangha appeared to live a lavish lifestyle posting images of herself holidaying in high-end resorts in Tokyo and Mexico, wearing designer apparel from Chanel and Luis Vuitton, and partying with Hollywood people.

“These defendants took advantage of Mr. Perry’s addiction issues to enrich themselves,” US Attorney Martion Estrada said at a news conference. If convicted, Sangha could face a prison term ranging from 10 years to life.

Sangha and Dr. Salvador Plasencia, another defendant, pleaded not guilty in the District Court in Los Angeles, as the investigation continues into the criminal network’s operations.

If convicted on all charges, Sangha would face between 10 years to life in federal prison. (with Reuters)

  • Very sad to see that a woman of Indian (most likely Punjabi) background has come to our attention in such a harmful and negative way. Sigh…I want to go back to hearing about Kamala’s India roots, and maybe even Usha Vance’s.
