Kangana Ranaut Slams Kunal Kamra

NEW DELHI (ANI)- Bharatiya Janata Party MP and Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut slammed stand-up artist Kunal Kamra for his remarks against Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.

When asked about the demolition of her office by Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) in 2020 and the vandalism of the studio where Kamra had performed, Kangana stated that her case was “illegal,” whereas the current situation involved “legal action.”

Kangana said, “The way he (Kamra) was mocking me, what happened with me was illegal… I will not connect these two incidents. What had happened with me was illegal, but here it is being done legally.”

She criticized Kamra for allegedly defaming people under the guise of comedy for “2 minutes of fame” and questioned his credentials. “You might be anyone, but insulting and defaming someone—especially a person for whom respect is everything—is unacceptable. Shinde ji used to drive rickshaws and has come so far on his own,” she added.

Kangana expressed concern about the state of society, stating, “Who are these people, and what are their credentials? If they can write, they should pursue literature instead of abusing people and our culture in the name of comedy. We should think about where society is heading.”

Kunal Kamra’s comedy video titled ‘Naya Bharat,’ aired on YouTube on March 24, took jibes at the Indian political scenario and Maharashtra politics.
