Mamdani-Sanders Share Hyderabadi Meal As Mayor’s Race Rolls To Final Stretch

NEW YORK, NY — Zohran Kwame Mamdani, the Democratic nominee for New York City mayor, opened the weekend by posting a simple but symbolic image: himself and Senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont sharing a meal of biryani at Hyderabadi Zaiqa, an Indian restaurant in Manhattan.
“Shared a meal with @BernieSanders at Hyderabadi Zaiqa last night,” Mamdani wrote simply on Instagram on September 6.
There was nothing simple about what transpired between them, accompanied as it was by rousing calls and cheering crowds as the 33-year-old democratic socialist Muslim was seen marching beside the 83-year-old Jewish senator in the city’s Labor Day Parade, waving to crowds chanting “Bernie! Bernie!” and posing with union leaders.
On September 6, Sanders brought Mamdani on stage during his national “Fighting Oligarchy” tour stop in Brooklyn, where Mamdani led the packed auditorium in singing “Happy Birthday” to the senator, who turns 84 this week. Sanders, in turn, called Mamdani “the future of the Democratic Party,” while blasting top New York Democrats for withholding their endorsements.
Mamdani has often cited Sanders as his inspiration, recalling that his first canvassing effort in 2019 for State Assembly began outside a Sanders rally.
Sanders is not Mamdani’s only Jewish ally. He cross-endorsed city comptroller Brad Lander during the primary, and many of his top advisors are Jewish.
The Brooklyn town hall offered a glimpse of momentum as the race enters its final stretch. Polls show Mamdani at about 42 percent support, ahead of former Gov. Andrew Cuomo and incumbent Mayor Eric Adams, both running as independents, as well as Republican Curtis Sliwa, founder of the Guardian Angels. Adams is considered close to Trump and has recently been forced to deny reports that the President had given him a job offer.

The Democratic socialist party will thrive in such pockets and the media is having a hay day making them look like the kingmakers. Alas, the reality is far from it. Majority of the country is looking more to the center or slight to the right. If the Democratic Party wants to be in the White House and hold the reins of congress, they have to be on the center, as otherwise it’s just kiss goodbye to the seat of power for a long time to come. , it becomes anathema to Americans, except of course to the New Yorkers and Californians. Democrat Socialist is NOT what NYC needs. Such politicians talk a good talk which most lower income NYkers will happily listen to. But when reality sets in and taxes go up, government spending increases, lawlessness spreads, then who’s going to accept responsibility for all of this ? Look what happened to accepting undocumented migrants and putting them up in tents and hotels ? Who paid for all of that ? Current mayor was struggling. He wanted other towns in Upstate NY to take them in too. But they flat out refused. So if anyone thinks this nutcase will be good for NY, good luck !! But shit will hit the roof if he wins

These people- the true left- are the the only decent politicians in America today. We need to bring this message to the people cause it’s the only thing that will save this country. The Democrats need to bring back the ideas of FDR, LBJ- that will make America actually great for everyone, not just the few like now.
