Officer Who Arrested, Framed Aryan Khan Charged Of Corruption

NEW DELHI, (IANS) – The Central Bureau of Investigation has filed a corruption case against Sameer Wankhede, the anti-narcotics officer who arrested Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan in the drugs-on-cruise case two years ago. Aryan Khan was on board the cruiser when the officials conducted raids.

A top CBI source said that during the raid on the Cordelia cruise, the NCB officials led by Wankhede allegedly threatened the individuals who were on board and demanded Rs 25 crore from Aryan Khan’s family for not lodging any case against him.

“Out of Rs 25 crore, the Khan family paid Rs 50 lakh to the NCB officials,” said the source. Aryan Khan, who spent four weeks in jail, was cleared of all charges by the anti-drugs agency in May 2022 due to “lack of sufficient evidence”.

Now a case has been lodged against Wankhede and four others under corruption and other Acts.

Wankhede is currently posted in Chennai.

Raids by CBI are currently going on at 29 locations in Mumbai, Delhi, Ranchi and Kanpur and in Mumbai – all related to Wankhede.

  • Everything revolves around money and power. If you have money and power you can go scott free after committing crime or doing drugs.

    • 25 crores for not filing a case of drug use?
It is not like the kid was selling drugs. He was consuming drugs with his friends.

Proving that Khan’s family paid Rs 50 lakhs for not making an arrest that actually happened will be hard to prove.

  • Only in India ! Guilty until proven innocent. The day corruption stops in India is when hell freezes over.
Pretty sad that this is and will continue to be the way of life. Unless there is a leader that will actually put a dent into corruption and punish those government officials and others with severe consequences. Then maybe there will be some hope for change for the better.

  • I am surprised and sad that this was allowed to occur under Mr. Modi’s administrations! Justice can be bought in India. This is a well known fact.
