Ramaswamy With Musk, To Lead Department Of Government Efficiency
India-West News Desk
WASHINGTON, DC – Donald Trump announced on November 12 that Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, SpaceX, and ‘X,’ along with Vivek Ramaswamy, will lead the newly formed Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). In an official statement, Trump expressed his enthusiasm, calling Musk and Ramaswamy “two wonderful Americans” who will spearhead efforts to dismantle government bureaucracy, cut wasteful spending, and restructure federal agencies, all in line with his “Save America” movement.
“Together, these two will pave the way for my administration to drive large-scale structural reform, slash excess regulations, and create an entrepreneurial approach to government never seen before,” Trump said. He likened the initiative to “The Manhattan Project” of our time, referencing the ambitious goals of the DOGE, which is designed to bring about drastic change with advice and guidance from outside the government.
The DOGE will work closely with the White House and the Office of Management and Budget to reduce inefficiencies in federal operations, aiming to save the government billions in wasteful spending. Trump emphasized that the department would focus on accountability and transparency, targeting the $6.5 trillion annual government spending, and vowed to make the U.S. government more responsive to the people.
In a nod to the timeline of the initiative, Trump declared that the work of DOGE would be completed by July 4, 2026, coinciding with the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. He expressed confidence that the new department would result in a smaller, more efficient government as a “perfect gift to America.”
Musk responded to the announcement with a lighthearted post, joking, “Department of Government Efficiency – The merch will be fire.” Meanwhile, Ramaswamy, who had previously been a presidential candidate before halting his campaign to support Trump, shared his own post on X, tagging Musk and writing, “We will not go gently, @elonmusk.”
Ramaswamy also reiterated his long-standing position on eliminating unnecessary government agencies, a theme central to his own presidential campaign. He posted his signature slogan “SHUT IT DOWN,” referencing his goal of eliminating federal agencies such as the FBI and the Department of Education. Reflecting on his political future, Ramaswamy confirmed that he is withdrawing his name from consideration for a pending Senate appointment in Ohio, offering support to the future appointee.
As an advocate for government reform, Ramaswamy had previously released a white paper outlining a legal framework that would allow the president to dismantle federal agencies at his discretion. His focus on cutting government waste and promoting efficiency continues to be a driving force behind his work with Trump.
The upcoming reorganization is set to be a defining part of Trump’s 2024 campaign platform.

Dept. Of Education and Dept. Of Labor, least useful og the agencies. Ramaswamy and Tulsi are two Indians that all should be proud off.
Losers: Kamla and Nikki (Tricky) Haley .
