Over the years, many people from the film world have faced cancer and fought it with courage.

Actor Manisha Koirala was diagnosed with stage four ovarian cancer in 2012. The battle was long and exhausting for her. After treatment in the US, she was declared cancer-free in 2013. Today, she is back to acting and also speaks often about health and cancer awareness. She urges people not to ignore warning signs and to stay hopeful during tough times.

Mahima Chaudhry

Mahima Chaudhry was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2022 during a routine health test. In an earlier interview with ANI, the actress shared, “Cancer is something that you can’t recognize on your own early. It can only be detected early through tests. So, if you keep going for a yearly check-up, you will be able to detect it early and seek early treatment.” Mahima is now cancer-free.

Tahira Kashyap

Writer and filmmaker Tahira Kashyap, who is married to actor Ayushmann Khurrana, was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2018. After treatment, she was declared cancer-free in 2020. She shared her journey openly, speaking about body image, fear, and healing. In April 2025, Tahira revealed that her cancer had returned. Even then, she has continued to face it with honesty and strength.

Sanjay Dutt

Actor Sanjay Dutt was diagnosed with stage four lung cancer in 2020. The news shocked his fans, but he began treatment immediately. Later that year, he shared that he had beaten the disease. He spoke about how difficult the period was for him and his family and thanked people for their prayers and support.

Hina Khan
