SAN FRANCISCO, CA –San Francisco Unicorns, a Major League Cricket franchise has been confirmed as the fifth and final team for the 2026 Global Super League, marking the first appearance by an MLC side in the tournament.

The third edition of the competition will be played in Guyana from July 23 to August 1.

The five-team field includes San Francisco Unicorns (Major League Cricket), Lahore Qalandars (Pakistan Super League), Guyana Amazon Warriors (Caribbean Premier League), Desert Vipers (ILT20) and Perth Scorchers (Big Bash League).

Global Super League chairman Sir Clive Lloyd welcomed the Unicorns’ inclusion, saying in a release that it highlighted cricket’s expanding international reach and the growth of franchise cricket in the United States.

Lahore Qalandars will return after playing in the inaugural 2024 edition. The Pakistan franchise are three-time PSL champions and finished fourth that year.

Rangpur Riders of the Bangladesh Premier League won the inaugural title in 2024, while Guyana Amazon Warriors lifted the trophy in 2025. The Guyana side are the only team to feature in all three editions.
