Shatrughan Sinha Admits To Being In A Love Triangle

MUMBAI – Shatrughan Sinha recently reflected on his tumultuous past, confessing to cheating on his wife, Poonam Sinha, during a phase in his life when his co-star Reena Roy played a significant role. Speaking to Lehren Retro, Sinha candidly admitted to making “mistakes” and shared how the emotional turmoil from his love triangle impacted his mental and physical health.

Without naming individuals, Shatrughan Sinha expressed gratitude toward all the women who had been part of his journey. “I am grateful to all the women who were part of my life. I don’t hold any grudges or think ill of them. Each of them has contributed to my growth and helped me become a better person,” said the actor, who is also the father of Bollywood star Sonakshi Sinha.

Sharing his perspective on complicated relationships, Sinha highlighted that men, too, endure emotional suffering. “When a man is good at heart and has two committed relationships simultaneously, he suffers greatly—mentally and physically. The guilt is overwhelming. When you’re with your lover, you feel guilty for your wife. When you’re with your wife, you feel bad for your lover. It’s a constant battle,” he admitted.

Reflecting on his early years in the industry, Sinha acknowledged that his mistakes stemmed from being unprepared for the fame and glamour that came with stardom. “Coming from Patna, I got lost in the glitz of the industry. I didn’t have a mentor to guide me. After Poonam entered my life, she became a pillar of support and helped me navigate through it all,” he said.

Addressing his bond with Reena Roy, Sinha described it as a significant chapter in his life. “I received immense love from her and learned a lot. I have no complaints. Life isn’t easy when you’re caught in such situations, and everyone involved suffers, including the man.”

Sinha and Roy first connected on the sets of Kalicharan (1976) and went on to work together in several films, including Milap and Sangram, before Sinha married Poonam Sinha. Reflecting on his decision, Sinha said in a prior interview, “Life sometimes places you at a difficult crossroads, where any choice you make will not be in everyone’s favor. But a decision has to be made.”

The actor’s candid revelations shed light on the complexities of love, relationships, and personal growth in the backdrop of Bollywood’s glittering yet challenging world.
