OTTAWA – Canadian Bollywood singer Shweta Subram, best known for her global hit “Jalebi Baby,” was recently named Artist of the Year at the Dubaiites Food and Nightlife Awards. The prestigious event, held earlier this month, recognized standout talent and establishments across Dubai’s dynamic dining, nightlife, and entertainment scenes.

Born in Mangalore, raised in Dubai, and now based in Ottawa, Subram is celebrated for her versatile vocal range, performing in Hindi, Punjabi, Tamil, and English. Her breakout moment came with “Jalebi Baby” in 2020, a track that became a global phenomenon and cemented her presence on the international music stage.

Beyond her viral success, Subram has performed at major events, including sharing the stage with renowned Bollywood composers Salim–Sulaiman at the International Indian Film Academy Awards.
