NEW DELHI (ANI)– Sikandar Kher, son of actress Kirron Kher, completes 17 years in the Bollywood industry this year.

Sikandar made his debut with the 2008 film Woodstock Villa, directed by Hansal Mehta. Before that, he worked as an assistant director in Shah Rukh Khan’s Dil Toh Pagal Hai and Devdas.

The Aurangzeb actor will next be seen in Ikkis and Baby Do Die Do. Both films hold special significance for him—Ikkismarks his first collaboration with director Sriram Raghavan, while Baby Do Die Do reunites him with his close friend and actor Saqib Saleem after their work on Citadel: Honey Bunny.

Sikandar shared his excitement: “Collaborating with Sriram Raghavan is something I always wanted to do. He is a great person and an amazing filmmaker, and I am really enjoying the process. With Baby Do Die Do, I get to work with Saqib again, and Nachiket, the director, is incredibly talented and passionate. Both films are great, and I’m enjoying working on them.”

Over the past 16 years, Sikandar has also made a mark in the OTT space with successful projects like 24AaryaTVF PitchersTooth Pari: When Love Bites, and Citadel: Honey Bunny.

Sikandar believes each platform has its own merits. “OTT films reach directly into homes, allowing families to watch together. You can pause whenever needed. In theatres, even if you don’t like the movie, you stay because you’ve paid for it. OTT is more affordable with subscriptions, but theatres have their own unique vibe and enjoyment. Ultimately, both platforms create employment opportunities, which is a good thing,” he explained.

Last year, Sikandar made his Hollywood debut in Dev Patel’s directorial film Monkey Man, portraying the character, Rana Singh. Reflecting on his Hollywood experience, he said, “Working with Dev was great, though filming in 2020 was challenging due to COVID-19 and quarantine restrictions.”

When asked about differences in filmmaking across industries, Sikandar noted that the process remains the same worldwide. “For those who work in films, the approach is the same in every language—whether it’s English, Hindi, Korean, or South Indian films. The same hard work, love, heartbreak, and happiness go into it. The process doesn’t change,” he said.

Most recently, Sikandar appeared in the Indian adaptation of the Russo Brothers’ series Citadel, alongside Varun Dhawan and Samantha Ruth Prabhu. The show was created by Raj and DK.
