EDISON, NJ – The Society of Indo-American Engineers and Architects (SIAEA) has ushered in a new leadership team following its biennial election, with Mitul Patel, PE, taking over as president. Patel was officially sworn in by Edison Mayor Sam Joshi at an oath ceremony on March 22 at Mirage Banquet.
Patel, a licensed professional engineer, emphasized his commitment to strengthening the organization’s initiatives and creating more opportunities for engineers and architects of Indian origin across the US.
Chitra Radin was elected as president-elect, alongside other members of the executive committee.

The event was attended by New Jersey State Senator Patrick Diegnan Jr., Assemblymen Robert Karabinchak and Sterley Stanley, and city council candidates Kelli Dima and Biral Patel. Several past presidents of SIAEA were also present, underscoring the organization’s long-standing role in community engagement.
Patel highlighted the Society’s mission to enhance collaboration, professional development, and innovation within the industry. He also acknowledged the strong alumni network and the organization’s history of awarding scholarships, hosting technical seminars, and expanding its membership base.

Patel pledged to continue building on SIAEA’s legacy while introducing new initiatives aimed at driving innovation and social impact within the engineering and architecture community.
The newly elected board includes Yatish Sharma (Executive Vice President), Yogesh Mistry (Secretary), Bony Parikh (Treasurer), and Board of Directors Nimesh Shah, Aditi Patel, Nirav Shah, Tejas Desai, Owais Ahmad, and Vijay Kamarajugadda.
