SRK Gets Emotional At Aryan Khan’s Directorial Debut
MUMBAI- The first look and trailer for Aryan Khan’s directorial debut, ‘The Ba***ds of Bollywood,’ was unveiled on August 20 at a star-studded event at the YRF Studios here. The series, which marks the debut of Shah Rukh Khan’s son as a director, is set to stream on Netflix starting September 18.
Shah Rukh Khan, fulfilling his “daddy duties,” hosted the event with his characteristic wit and charm. He introduced the cast, which includes Bobby Deol, Lakshya, Sahher Bambba, Manoj Pahwa, Mona Singh, Manish Chaudhari, Raghav Juyal, Anya Singh, Vijayant Kohli, Rajat Bedi, and Gautami Kapoor.
During the event, an emotional SRK expressed his gratitude to the city of Mumbai for his journey and urged the audience to support his son. “I am deeply grateful to the sacred land of Mumbai… which gave me the opportunity to try and entertain you all for 30 years,” he said, adding, “Today is a very special day because on this very land, my son is taking his first step.” He asked the audience to give his son 150% of the love they had shown him.
Aryan Khan, in turn, thanked his mother and producer, Gauri Khan, for her support. “I would like to call my mother on stage for producing this show, and most importantly, for producing me,” he stated.
The series is described as a stylized yet chaotic world infused with self-aware and tongue-in-cheek humor. Speaking about his vision, Aryan said, “I wanted to build a world that feels alive, a mix of glitz and grit, where ambition shines, egos clash, and nothing is ever as it seems.” He credited Netflix with sharing his vision for a “raw, stylized, and something the world has never experienced before” narrative.
The series is created by Aryan Khan, Bilal Siddiqi, and Manav Chauhan, who also wrote the script. Produced by Red Chillies Entertainments, the music is composed by Shashwat Sachdev, with guest composers Anirudh Ravichander and Ujwal Gupta. The music will be released by T-Series.
According to the preview, the story revolves around an outsider, Aasman Singh (Lakshya), who achieves a hit film and falls for the daughter of superstar Arjun Talvar (Bobby Deol), played by Sahher Bambba. Mona Singh is cast as Lakshya’s mother, while Raghav Juyal plays his best friend. The preview was graced by cameos from industry heavyweights like Salman Khan, Ranveer Singh, and Karan Johar. While Aryan himself did not appear in the preview, reports suggest that Shah Rukh Khan will make a special appearance in the final episode. (IANS)
