
Stars Visit Ayan After Father Deb Mukherjee’s Demise
MUMBAI (ANI)– Following the passing of veteran actor Deb Mukherjee on March 14, several Bollywood celebrities visited filmmaker Ayan Mukerji’s residence to pay their respects.
Veteran actress Jaya Bachchan was among the first to arrive. She was seen consoling Kajol, the niece of Deb.
Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor, who share a close bond with Ayan, were also spotted at the residence with the latter being a pall bearer. Other notable personalities, including Karan Johar, Ashutosh Gowariker, Lalit Pandit, and Kiran Rao, were present to offer their condolences.
Deb Mukherjee, born in Kanpur, was a member of the illustrious Mukherjee-Samarth family, which has been associated with the film industry for four generations. His mother, Satidevi, was the sister of Ashok Kumar, Anup Kumar, and Kishore Kumar. His brothers included actor Joy Mukherjee and filmmaker Shomu Mukherjee, who was married to actress Tanuja. His nieces are Kajol and Rani Mukerji.
Deb Mukherjee was married twice. His daughter Sunita, from his first marriage, is married to director Ashutosh Gowariker, while his son Ayan is from his second marriage.
He appeared in several films, including Sambandh, Adhikar, Zindagi Zindagi, Mai Tulsi Tere Aangan Ki, Baaton Baaton Mein, and Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar.
