TiE SoCal Angels And TiE Global Angels Host Successful TiE Global Angels Investor Summit 2023

CERRITOS, CA – TiE SoCal Angels, in association with TiE Global Angels, successfully concluded its flagship event – TiE Global Angels Investor Summit, on April 6. The event saw the participation of over 250 attendees and 60+ angel groups, with 20 startups showcasing their vision and gaining over 1000 live feedbacks from attendees with the Startup Steroid deal flow platform. Startups with the maximum poll score received the ‘Audience Choice Award.’
The one-day summit featured engaging sessions, including a fireside chat with Jeff Lapin hosted by Shankar Ram, a startup journey panel discussion moderated by Jerry Heikens with Lea A. Ellermeier and Nikhil Rao, and a panel discussion on investing and fundraising in current times with Michael Lerma, Xandra Laskowski, Azad Virk, Garrett Gilbertson, and Janice Orlando.

In addition to the keynotes and panel discussions, attendees could participate in interactive Lunch and Learn sessions with industry experts, visit the Startup Table booth to learn more about exciting new startups, and network with Angel Investors and Startup Founders.

The Startup Pitching Rounds
The event saw 20 startups pitch their ideas in four slots, with each Startup having eight minutes to present. The audience actively participated in the event by rating the startups based on their live pitch using the Startup Steroid deal flow platform. After every pitch, the audience had two minutes to rate the Startup, and the three startups with the highest ratings received the ‘Audience Choice Awards.’
The title of ‘Audience Choice Award’ was won by myBiometry, while OCRA and ALYVE Medical secured the runner-up positions. In addition to the awards, the audience members who participated in the rating process received four raffle prizes – Starbucks gift cards. The lucky winners were Narayanan Veda, Dilip Daswani, Manjusha Tipre, and Amy Wood. The event was highly engaging and successful in building meaningful relationships among the attendees.
