Trump Imagines Himself As Jesus As Even MAGA World Recoils

WASHINGTON, DC – Shock and disbelief are rippling through political and religious circles after Donald Trump posted an AI-generated image portraying himself as a Jesus-like figure, triggering backlash not just from critics, but from his own supporters.

The now-deleted image, shared on Truth Social on April 12, showed Trump in flowing robes, hand outstretched as if healing a sick man, surrounded by religious imagery and American symbols. The reaction was immediate and fierce.

Even loyal conservatives recoiled. Some called it “blasphemous,” while others openly questioned what the president was thinking. The criticism was striking in its tone: not political, but deeply personal and religious, with calls for humility and demands that the post be taken down.

“I don’t know if the President thought he was being funny or if he is under the influence of some substance or what possible explanation he could have for this OUTRAGEOUS blasphemy,” wrote Megan Basham, a conservative Christian commentator.

“Why? Seriously, I cannot understand why he’d post this,” posted Riley Gaines “Is he looking for a response? Does he actually think this? Either way, two things are true. 1) a little humility would serve him well 2) God shall not be mocked.”

The outrage only intensified because of the timing. The post came just as Trump escalated attacks on Pope Leo XIV, who has been critical of the war in Iran. Trump had blasted the pope as “weak” on crime and foreign policy, before sharing the controversial image hours later.

For many, that combination crossed a line.

Former GOP Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene posted, “On Orthodox Easter, President Trump attacked the Pope because the Pope is rightly against Trump’s war in Iran and then he posted this picture of himself as if he is replacing Jesus. This comes after last week’s post of his evil tirade on Easter and then threatening to kill an entire civilization. I completely denounce this and I’m praying against it!!!”

Meanwhile, Pope Leo responded calmly but firmly, saying he has “no fear” of Trump and would continue speaking out on moral issues, including war.
