In The Background Of ECI Vote Tampering, Rahul Gandhi Says ‘Rough’ Times Teach Calm

NEW DELHI-Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on September 27 shared a philosophical message on social media about staying calm while facing difficult situations, amid the ongoing controversy over the Election Commission of India (ECI) and the nationwide Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.

“I love swimming in the sea when it’s rough. It teaches you that rough is just another kind of calm,” Gandhi said in a post on X, without specifying the context.

The post came amid the ongoing political controversy over the tampering with elections. “For three years, I have been exposing vote theft. Now, the Election Commissioners themselves are acknowledging it and bringing the truth to light. Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar has committed treason. He should resign immediately and become an approver,” Gandhi said.

His post has comes days after an Indian Express expose showed differences within the poll panel, with decisions being taken without the knowledge of the two Election Commissioners or being overridden.

The INDIA bloc parties are likely to meet on September 30 over the ECI dissent row and other issues. The Cockroach Janata Party has also demanded the resignation of the Modi government appointee, Gyanesh Kumar.  (IANS)
