DALLAS, TX – HungerMitao, the Texas-based community service organization, has received a major boost in its fight against hunger with a one million–meal donation from Twisted X Global Brands, the company behind popular footwear lines.

The contribution comes at a critical time, as demand for emergency food assistance continues to rise. Although the recent government shutdown has ended, its effects linger, with SNAP delays, furloughed workers, and rising living costs pushing more families than ever to seek help from food banks.

“This contribution is a powerful testament to the compassion of our community,” said Raj Asava, founder of HungerMitao. “At a moment when hunger is growing, Twisted X has stepped forward to help thousands of families across North Texas.”

He added, “When the going gets tough, the Indian diaspora in the US gets going.”

Prasad Reddy, CEO of Twisted X, said the donation reflects the company’s commitment to the region. “Compassion is one of our highest priorities at Twisted X, and we feel a responsibility as a business and as humans to help our local community in times of need,” he said. “It is our intent to pay it forward in hopes that others will too.”

The donation will support efforts by the North Texas Food Bank and Tarrant Area Food Bank, both of which have reported significant increases in demand, prompting expanded mobile distributions and urgent food procurement initiatives.

The initiative, called the ‘Million Meals Program,’ builds on HungerMitao’s national work through the Feeding America network. Founded in 2017 by Raj and Anna Asava, the organization has helped deliver over 80 million meals to date. Its 2024–25 impact report highlights 4.26 million meals provided in a single year, a lifetime total of 24.46 million meals, and more than 152,000 volunteer hours contributed.
