Karisma Kapoor Lauds Shahid Kapoor’s Rise In Bollywood

MUMBAI -Bollywood actor Karisma Kapoor praised Shahid Kapoor’s journey from a background dancer to a leading Bollywood star during the upcoming episode of the dance reality show ‘India’s Best Dancer Season 5’, where she serves as a judge.

The moment came after a contestant revealed he had previously worked as a background dancer, prompting Karisma Kapoor to reflect on Shahid Kapoor’s early struggles in the entertainment industry.

Recalling Shahid’s early days as a dancer, Karisma said, “Ek actor ne mere hi ek song mein mere piche as a background dancer, dance kiya tha aur voh theh Shahid Kapoor; aur aaj aap dekhiye Shahid Kapoor kaha tak pahuch gaye hain and I see those same qualities in you.”

Before making his acting debut, Shahid Kapoor was part of choreographer Shiamak Davar’s dance troupe during the 1990s and worked as a background dancer in Bollywood songs.

He notably appeared behind Karisma Kapoor in the song ‘Le Gayi’ from the film ‘Dil To Pagal Hai’.

Shahid Kapoor later made his Bollywood debut with ‘Ishq Vishk’ in 2003 and went on to become one of Hindi cinema’s leading actors. (IANS)
