‘Balika Vadhu’ Star Smita Bansal Says Career Came At Cost Of Motherhood

MUMBAI- Television actress Smita Bansal, best known for playing Sumitra in the popular TV serial ‘Balika Vadhu’, made an emotional revelation about balancing motherhood and her acting career during an appearance on actor Rajeev Khandelwal-hosted show ‘Tum Ho Naa – Ghar Ki Superstar’.

Recalling a deeply personal moment, Smita shared how her professional commitments often left her feeling absent from her daughter’s life.

“Once I came back from the shoot, I told my mother that I’ll take Stasha and put her to sleep, but when Stasha came to me, she refused. She said, ‘I’ll sleep with grandmother,'” Smita recalled.

The actress admitted that while audiences knew her as the mother of Anandi and Jagya on screen, she often could not be there for her own daughter.

“The whole world called me Anandi’s mother, Jagya’s mother and I was not available at home for my own daughter. For me it became such a big loss as a mother,” she said.  (IANS)
