Anupam Kher Calls Meeting Stevie Wonder Backstage ‘Surreal’

MUMBAI- Actor Anupam Kher has described meeting legendary American singer Stevie Wonder backstage in Stockholm as a “surreal” experience, saying the musician’s kindness and warmth left a lasting impression on him.

Kher attended Wonder’s concert, ‘Wonders of Wonders – An Evening with Stevie Wonder’, in Stockholm and shared his experience on social media, praising the singer’s performance.

The actor said Wonder’s music, rhythm, gestures and nuances made the evening memorable. He was equally moved by their backstage meeting, where he found the celebrated singer to be a deeply kind and generous person.

“And then came the surreal moment of meeting him backstage. I met not only a legendary singer but also a humanitarian, a deeply kind man, and someone whose warmth and generosity touched me profoundly,” he wrote.

Kher also said he was touched by Wonder’s appreciation of his work as an actor.

“The way he appreciated me as an actor was so heartfelt. I left feeling grateful, humbled, and reminded that true greatness has a gentleness to it. Stardom may come and go, but kindness and grace stay with you,” he added.

“Some stars shine brightly for a lifetime. Some, like diamonds, are eternal. Jai Ho!” Kher concluded. (IANS)
