Urvashi Rautela Seeks Rs 7,000 Crore Damages From LA-Based AI Company

LOS ANGELES, CA- Bollywood actress Urvashi Rautela’s legal team is pursuing damages estimated at Rs 7,000 crore from an unnamed Los Angeles-based AI company, alleging that it commercially used her name, image and likeness without her permission.

In a strongly worded statement posted on Instagram, Rautela’s team alleged that the company used the actress’s identity, including her photographs and videos, without authorization. The statement warned the AI firm against using her identity for commercial purposes without consent.

“Build your AI company. Build your brand. But keep Urvashi’s name out of your business unless you have permission,” the statement said.

The dispute follows a viral interview in which Rautela was asked about Bollywood and artificial intelligence by Bollywood.AI.

Responding to comments she made during the interview, Sheeraz Hasan, founder and CEO of Bollywood.AI and Hollywood.AI, said the company had not influenced her responses.

“Urvashi, we didn’t put those words in your mouth,” Hasan wrote on Instagram, adding that she should educate herself about artificial intelligence and its potential impact on Bollywood’s entertainment industry.

Hasan described AI as the future of entertainment, pointing to AI-generated movies, vertical dramas and digital stars capable of working continuously, speaking multiple languages and not aging.

“You can fight your answer, but you can’t fight what’s coming next,” he wrote, urging Rautela to embrace what he described as the evolution of the entertainment industry in Bollywood. (with IANS)
