L.A.Times Endorses Nithya Raman To City Council
LOS ANGELES, CA – In a recent endorsement, the Los Angeles Times has thrown its support behind Nithya Raman for a second term on the City Council, recognizing her groundbreaking contributions since her initial election in November 2020.
The newspaper commended Raman for her impressive track record as a relative newcomer who unseated a council incumbent, breaking a 17-year streak. The paper highlighted her “commendable commitment to addressing critical issues in Los Angeles, particularly her ambitious plans to tackle homelessness, housing insecurity, and reform policing strategies within District 4.”
One of the key reasons cited for the endorsement is Raman’s leadership in the passage of a landmark expansion of tenant protections, preventing arbitrary evictions and ensuring housing stability for tenants. The Los Angeles Times also applauded her consistent advocacy for government transparency, including pushing for independent redistricting and City Council expansion to better serve the community.

Kudos to Nithya. She is the only council women issuing monthly e-mail disclosing what activities she had undertaken.
