Madhura Naik Recalls Family’s Harrowing Encounter With Hamas

MUMBAI, (ANI) – Television actor Madhura Naik, marking the one-year anniversary of the October 7 attacks in Israel, recalled her family’s harrowing encounter with terrorists. Naik, who is Jewish, revealed that she lost her first cousin and brother-in-law in a crossfire in Sderot.

Speaking at an event organized by the Israeli Embassy in New Delhi, Naik explained that her family follows Judaism but has also adapted to Hindu traditions. She shared how her grandmother’s siblings moved to Israel in the 1970s, where they thrived. However, on October 7, 2023, her family faced an unimaginable tragedy.

Naik recounted how her cousin and her husband were murdered in front of their two daughters, aged six and three, during the attacks. The six-year-old, rescued by the Israeli police, pleaded for them to save the younger child next to her.

Naik emphasized that terrorism knows no religion, race, or gender, recounting how an Arab Muslim man also attempted to save her family but was killed in the same attack. She called for an end to terrorism, reflecting on the devastating impact it has had on her family and many others.
