Rohit Bal Cared For His Models Says Lakshmi Rana

NEW DELHI (ANI) – Supermodel Lakshmi Rana walked down memory lane to pay tribute to the late fashion legend Rohit Bal, fondly known as “Gudda,” recalling precious memories from their 24-year association. “I’ve worked with him since I began modeling, about 24 years ago. He had an incredible ability to connect with everyone he met,” she shared, highlighting his pride in Indian textiles and his unmatched talent. “Gudda was a talented and articulate man. I admire him for so many things.”

Lakshmi spoke about Bal’s deep care for his models and his dedication to creating opportunities for them. “His models were his stars. He was so proud of them…I learned so much from him. We worked together on numerous campaigns and shows,” she reflected.

One of her fondest memories was walking for Bal at his iconic show set against the backdrop of the Qutub Minar. “I will never forget that show…It was surreal, with Shubha Mudgal performing live. Till today, it’s my favorite show,” she recalled.

Lakshmi last walked for Bal in October 2024 at the grand finale of Lakme Fashion Week, which turned out to be his final show. “We were all emotional as Gudda made his comeback after a health scare. Despite everything, he showed up and gave us a grand finale,” she said, with a heavy heart.
