WASHINGTON, DC – Indian American Impact’s Executive Director, Chintan Patel, issued a statement on January 21 following the inauguration of Donald Trump as the 47th President of the United States, emphasizing both the importance of the peaceful transfer of power and growing concerns about extremism in the country.
Patel acknowledged the historical significance of the transfer of power but also expressed concern for the well-being of marginalized communities under the new administration. “This is a deeply troubling time for communities of color, immigrants, and marginalized groups,” Patel said. “As South Asian Americans, we must stand against extremism and uphold the values of inclusion, equality, and justice.”
Patel reaffirmed Indian American Impact’s commitment to its mission of mobilizing the South Asian community, holding leaders accountable, and advocating for a more just and equitable society. “We will continue to fight for the rights and representation of South Asians and other marginalized groups at all levels of government,” he added.
Indian American Impact is a national organization dedicated to amplifying South Asian voices, ensuring fair representation, and advocating for policy changes that reflect the community’s values and needs.
