FBI Nabs Woman On ‘Ten Most Wanted Fugitives’ List, In India
WASHINGTON, D.C.- A coordinated operation between the FBI and Indian authorities has led to the arrest of Cindy Rodriguez Singh, a fugitive on the FBI’s ‘Top 10 Most Wanted’ list. Singh was wanted in Texas for the alleged murder of her six-year-old son, Noel Alvarez, who has not been seen since October 2022.
According to FBI Director Kash Patel, Singh was apprehended in India and has since been transported back to the United States, where she will be handed over to Texas authorities. As reported by Fox News, she faces multiple state charges, including Unlawful Flight to Avoid Prosecution and Capital Murder of a person under 10 years of age.
Patel explained that in March 2023, authorities in Everman, Texas, had initiated a welfare check for the child. Singh allegedly lied about her son’s whereabouts and, just two days later, fled the country by boarding a flight to India. Patel noted that authorities believe she had not returned to the US since.
The fugitive’s legal troubles began in October 2023 when she was charged in the District Court of Tarrant County, Texas. A federal arrest warrant was issued the following month for the charge of Unlawful Flight to Avoid Prosecution.
In a post on X, Patel praised the collaborative efforts of the FBI and Indian law enforcement that led to the successful arrest, calling the operation a “credit to tremendous field work.”
The FBI had offered a reward of up to $25,000 for information that would lead to her capture.
Singh, who has ties to both India and Mexico, was wanted in connection with the disappearance and alleged killing of her son, a case that has drawn significant attention. (ANI)
