Ro Khanna Rebukes Laura Loomer Over Edited Hamas Video Claims: This Is Why Politics Is Broken

WASHINGTON, DC – In an era when partisan figures increasingly mislead followers with edited and distorted clips, Representative Ro Khanna (D-CA) has become the latest target of false claims linking him to Hamas supporters.

Conservative activist Laura Loomer posted a video suggesting Khanna appeared on stage at ArabCon alongside individuals accused of backing Hamas. Loomer escalated the charge by claiming the congressman “laughed” when asked about the October 7 attacks in Israel.

“Why did Democrat Congressman Ro Khanna share a stage with HAMAS supporters this weekend at ArabCon who laughed & cheered when asked if they would condemn October 7th?” Loomer wrote on X. “This is a sitting member of Congress laughing at October 7th. Ro Khanna should RESIGN.”

Khanna swiftly rebutted the accusations, pointing to the selective editing behind the clip. “This is why politics is broken,” he wrote in his own post. “You edited the clip to make it appear I spoke on the same panel. I did not and spoke at a different time. I have condemned Hamas & Oct 7. Challenge my ideas, but show my actual remarks!”

The California Democrat has repeatedly made his position clear. Khanna has condemned Hamas and the October 7, 2023 terrorist attacks, called for the immediate release of hostages, and stressed that Hamas must never govern Gaza or participate in any future Palestinian state. He has supported congressional resolutions reinforcing that stance.

At the same time, Khanna has been an advocate for Palestinian statehood, urging the U.S. to recognize it under firm conditions: that Hamas give up weapons and power, and that Palestinian leadership affirm Israel’s right to exist.
