Vijayta Pandit Shares How She Fell In Love With Aadesh Srivastava In America

MUMBAI -Veteran actress Vijayta Pandit shared an emotional moment on the stage of Indian Idol, where she spoke about her real-life love story with her late husband, celebrated music composer and singer Aadesh Srivastava, saying it was even better than the one shown in her hit film ‘Love Story’.

“My real-life love story with Aadesh Shrivastava is, I think, even better than my original movie Love Story,” she said.

“There is so much love in it. Given our shared family backgrounds… we met, simply fell in love, and got married. I was very happily married to him. He was a great person, a very wonderful husband, and you all know just how talented he was. He was a brilliant music composer and singer; he possessed so many artistic gifts that I think it’s rare to find them all in a single person. I am very lucky.”

Remembering her late husband, Vijayta said their love story later turned into a sad one, but his presence still remains with her.

“But the love story turned into a sad story, which really hurts. But still, he is never far away from me. He is always with me.”

Elaborating on how their relationship began, the actress said they first met in the United States when she was performing there with her family.

“Bas, hum mile the. Hum America mein mile the. Main apne family ke saath ek show kar rahi thi, aur waha woh the. Then we just fell in love, and he proposed to me and spoke to my parents. That’s how my real love story began. It was a great love story.”

Aadesh Srivastava was known for his soulful compositions and versatility, and delivered memorable songs such as Sona Sona, Shava Shava and Chali Chali Phir Chali.

He battled cancer for several years and passed away in 2015, at the age of 49. (IANS)
