Nitin Menon, Javagal Srinath Retained In ICC Elite Umpires Panel
DUBAI- Former Indian fast bowler Javagal Srinath and Indian umpire Nitin Menon have been retained in the International Cricket Council’s elite panels of match referees and umpires respectively for the 2026-27 international cricket season.
The ICC on May 11 announced that its Elite Panels of Match Referees and Umpires would remain unchanged following the annual review and selection process conducted by the ICC Umpire Selection Panel.
According to the ICC, the decision reflected satisfaction with the performances and consistency shown by the current group of officials over the past year.
ICC Chief Executive Officer Sanjog Gupta said the reappointment reflected the high standards maintained by the officials across international cricket.
The ICC Umpire Selection Panel, headed by ICC General Manager – Cricket Wasim Khan, reviewed the performances of officials before deciding to retain the existing panels.
The selection panel also included former English Premier League referee Mike Riley, former international umpire and coach Peter Manuel, and former India cricketer and commentator Sanjay Manjrekar.
“The umpires’ outstanding on-field performances, professionalism, decision-making accuracy, and third umpiring have contributed significantly to the quality and integrity of international cricket,” the statement added.
The ICC Elite Panel of Match Referees for 2026-27 comprises Jeff Crowe of New Zealand, Ranjan Madugalle of Sri Lanka, Andrew Pycroft of Zimbabwe, Richie Richardson of the West Indies, and Javagal Srinath of India.
The ICC Elite Panel of Umpires for 2026-27 includes Kumar Dharmasena of Sri Lanka, Christopher Gaffaney of New Zealand, Adrian Holdstock of South Africa, Richard Illingworth of England, Richard Kettleborough of England, Nitin Menon of India, Allahuddien Paleker of South Africa, Ahsan Raza of Pakistan, Paul Reiffel of Australia, Sharfuddoula Ibne Shahid of Bangladesh, Rodney Tucker of Australia, and Alex Wharf of England.
